EXCLUSIVE: Rasika Dugal reveals being in a ‘long-distance relationship’ with Shah Rukh Khan; says, “Maybe for him, I will abandon my shyness”

Rasika has been widely celebrated for her role as Beena Tripathi in the popular web series Mirzapur, showcasing her ability to command the screen. Her work in Delhi Crime, which won an International Emmy, further cemented her reputation as a powerhouse performer. Rasika continues to be a significant force in contemporary Indian storytelling. Rasika recently sat down with Bollywood Bubble to share about her personal and professional life. The Qissa actress opened about her love and respect for Shah Rukh Khan.

Rasika Duggal on her love for Shah Rukh Khan

Dugal openly expressed her love for superstar Shah Rukh Khan. When quizzed about her relationship with her husband Mukul Chadda and Shah Rukh Khan, she had a unique answer. Rasika said, “There’s one very long long-distance relationship and one long but short-distance relationship. I have never met Shah Rukh Khan. Whatever I’ve seen of him, I fell in love with him just by watching. I fell in love watching Darr, I fell in love watching Baazigar. It wasn’t just about the romantic hero; anything works as long as it’s SRK. My unadulterated, unconditional love is always there. Maybe for him, I’ll abandon my shyness one day. Maybe.”

Rasika Dugal about her husband Mukul Chadda

Talking about her first meeting with her husband Mukul, the actress shared, “Chaddha ji and I met in the most cliched way any actors can meet, that was in a theatre. There was a workshop on a Sunday morning. Everyone who attended looked like they had a really long Saturday night because they all seemed hungover. They were thinking, ‘Why have we signed up for this workshop? Why are we here’?”

Rasika continued, “I remember the instructor was a French lady who didn’t speak English very well. It was hard to follow what she was saying, and she was struggling as well. She had 15 very reluctant people in that workshop. Richha and Kalki were there too. In fact, Kalki was translating, I remember. She was the chief translator between the instructor and everyone else. Amrita Puri was there too. Then we started chatting during lunch. We realised we had many common friends. It was surprising. We met by chance at that time. 14 years of marriage now. But, my relationship with SRK is longer than that.”

Rasika Dugal also shared about her series Delhi Crime and Mirzapur. She shared her experience working on the sets of Delhi Crime and her intimate scenes from the series Mirzapur. Rasika also brilliantly shared her take on pay disparity.

Future projects of Rasika Dugal

Dugal will be seen in the next series of Delhi Crime and the actress has reportedly also started shooting for it.
